The Infinite Smile Project is partnering with the international movement, Suspended Coffees. Suspended Coffees aims to restore faith by highlighting the simple acts of kindness happening all around us, and encouraging others to do the same.
Suspended Coffees have over 280,000 followers on their FaceBook Page and over 1800 participating cafes worldwide are searchable via the interactive map on their Website – all focused on small acts of kindness that can make a big difference.
John Sweeney, from Cork in Ireland, is the founder and CEO of Suspended Coffees. As a husband and father of four, he understands the struggles that families face every single day, in a world full of uncertainty. As a social entrepreneur, his compassion and desire to help anyone in need is what led to the creation of the Suspended Coffees movement. While he believes a simple cup of coffee can change a person’s day, his vision for Suspended Coffees and humanity is much larger.
A suspended coffee is the advance purchase of a cup of coffee for someone who needs it, no matter why. But it really is about so much more than the coffee. It can provide physical comfort, conversation, a smile or even a laugh, and a sense of belonging. It can change lives, sometimes even save them.
The spirit and ambition of the Suspended Coffee movement is supported by thousands of cafés around the world, places that are at the hub of local communities, serving suspended coffees (and more) and sharing goodwill and compassion every day.
We invite you join our journey as we change the world, one cup of kindness at a time.
We are putting a different spin on how things are done. We utilize adults, volunteers and our ‘Kindness Ambassadors’ to recruit local coffee shops into joining the crusade. Then, we set up ‘Suspended Coffee’ coffee and concession stands at school, social and local events or at any event put on by a local business that wants to give back.
It’s simple! You can do something to change the community and the world for as little as $3. Plus, everyone wins! Adults get to contribute directly to their own city/town, knowing it is going to those that need it. It empowers kids in the community to work as ‘Kindness Ambassadors’, telling people at their school why they should consider helping. Helping with a $3 donation keeps your hometown a wonderful place to live. By donating a cup of coffee to someone who might be often forgotten, you are truly making a difference in their lives. Coffee shops win because they are doing something amazing for their community and patrons by doing a simple act of kindness for others.
The main reason – because it brings our communities together. Young or old, rich or poor, forgotten or not, together for as little as a couple of bucks a week.
A kindness epidemic! The goal is bringing this international movement to our soil and to as many communities as possible. Imagine if all our coffee shops did this? Then other businesses will start giving back to the community Neighbors start helping neighbors, all year round, for no other reason than to just be kind and change someone’s day. That is the type of kindness that can quite possibly make an impression that lasts a lifetime.
Our goal in partnering with Suspended Coffees, is to get more coffee shops, kids and adults involved in bringing more “community” to their well……community. It’s just part of our ‘Kindness World Domination’ that can include anyone, anywhere for approximately $3.00. We want to see as many cities as possible aware of what we are doing and how it has banded people together across the world in a little over a year.
One day, The Infinite Smile Project happened upon Suspended Coffees and we fell in love! We instantly knew we needed to help bring Suspended Coffees to the States by getting kids, parents, young and old involved in this program. We need to help get this program on school campuses, in local businesses, organizations and cafes. It is a simple concept that yields huge results and that’s why we love it!
Suspended Coffees is about more than just the coffee. It’s about offering warmth & sustenance and helping out those less fortunate than us. It’s about simple acts of human kindness, showing compassion and paying it forward. Suspended Coffees is about building strong people and inclusive communities based on random acts of kindness.
