Amazing Acts of Service!

Amazing Acts of Service!

Showing love and compassion to our neighbors, near and far, is important to how you can help shape the world you live in. We often reflect on the value of living in a community that you are proud of and have helped make a better place. Through acts of kindness, we are able to build up a community to new potential. This weekend was full of service opportunities! We hope you were able to enjoy Earth Day outside and give back to the planet that does so much for you! If not, you can choose to live as if every […]

The Power of Love!

The Power of Love!

Let’s see what the power of love can accomplish!  We recently met a little girl who is going through a difficult journey in life, and through special friends, we were able to witness her live one of her dreams. Kailyn is a special, vibrant little girl who is currently undergoing treatments for A.L.L. – High Risk B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Childhood A.L.L. is a type of cancer where the bone marrow produces too many immature lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell). Before her diagnosis her parents described her as “energetic, athletic, and lively!” She was just starting her life’s […]

Helping Those Who Help Others Become Jigger Free!

Helping Those Who Help Others Become Jigger Free!

As people who do good and spread kindness in the world, do you sometimes feel like a special agent, maybe a kindness ninja? Every time you hear of someone in need, you make it your goal to do what you can to change that person’s life. It’s kind of like having your own personal mission to make the world a better place. One organization we are highlighting this month was founded on that very idea. Sole Hope was born after the organization’s founder, Asher Collie, watched a YouTube video of African children who were seriously infected with jiggers. Instead of […]

Kindness Over Candy This Valentine’s Day

Kindness Over Candy This Valentine’s Day

How many years now have you rushed to the nearest Target the week of Valentines day only to find picked over, cartoon-covered, generic messaged cards for your kids to pass out to their classmates? We can all probably remember as kids looking forward to passing out and receiving these cards in class, maybe even cherishing one from your innocent third grade crush. Only days later though they would most likely end up in the trash, the candy picked over, and it was time to move on to the next holiday. That seems a little meaningless. Isn’t the whole point of […]

What If We Could Make Our Cities Warmer?

What If We Could Make Our Cities Warmer?

Driving back from a day of gluttony at The Grove in Los Angeles, we took a wrong turn on the way back and saw rows upon rows of tents as far as we could see with homeless men, women, and children. In our car were our girls gasping at what we just stumbled upon. It even struck them the distinct difference between the day we just had in this beautiful shopping district and the lives so many others were living that day just miles away. Just then myself and my friend decided it was the perfect time for a kindness project […]

Why You Should Do This Before Your Next Gift Exchange (plus 9 awesome charities for the holidays)

Here is a kindness hack that will also make your holiday shopping easier and more meaningful this season, with this great challenge inspired by one of our own staff. It really works and has been a wonderful way to involve the children in her family for many years. Plus it seriously eliminates the time and hassle of finding “the perfect gift” because it’s practically perfect in every way.   We all have that person in our family who seems like they already have, well everything. You know the ones I’m talking about. They probably already have the iPhone X. They […]

Last Call for Leftover Halloween for Military (And Why You Shouldn’t Give it to your Dentist)

Last Call for Leftover Halloween for Military (And Why You Shouldn’t Give it to your Dentist)

Now that we’re all coming off our sugar highs from this week we’ve maybe started looking around and started noticing the changing vibe. That or the aroma of our jack-o-lanterns going a bit too ripe out on the porch is bringing us to. It’s almost time to close the Halloween chapter, friends. But as we transition into November, our sacred month of gratitude awareness, we’re asking that you give Halloween one more hurrah, by donating leftover candy to our troops, along with a card thanking them for their service with drawings or explanations about what a hero means to you. […]

This Teacher Figured out the Ultimate Bully Hack, and How She Does it will Make You Cry

This Teacher Figured out the Ultimate Bully Hack, and How She Does it will Make You Cry

This is a call-to-arms for every parent, teacher, coach, and adult who works with children: When you’re a kid who you sit next to at school is your lifeline. At least, you probably thought it was at the time. But one amazing teacher has used the power of the seating chart to save lives, not lifelines, and it’s probably not how you think. Every Friday, this brilliant teacher asks her students to write the names of 4 children they wish to sit next to the following week in a brief survey. In addition, they are asked to nominate one child […]

Card Drive for Las Vegas Heroes gets Overwhelming Response: Here’s What Vegas Looks Like Now

Card Drive for Las Vegas Heroes gets Overwhelming Response: Here’s What Vegas Looks Like Now

We wanted to thank everyone who had a part in getting the 150+ homemade cards to Kim last week to be hand-delivered in Vegas. The cards just kept coming, from children all over Southern California ages 1-teen, many of whom had victims of the shooting from their own communities. The sentiment of the cards had a compassionate message for the heroes who need it most right now, as the two hospitals we visited continue to treat 47 of the 564 injured in the shooting- a nightmare they simply cannot seem to wake up from. Kim, Infinite Smile Project founder who […]
