We May Not Be Able to Change the World Right Now, But We Can Do Our Best to Change Our Children

I am not one to watch the news as much as I used to. I always want to be up to date on the world events, politics and be able to carry on an intelligent conversation when required – however I can only take so much. I am one of those people that can’t just watch the devastation unfold on CNN and then go about my normal daily routine. I get sucked in and somehow physically can place myself in someone’s strife and heartache (ie. families of the Malaysian crashes or situations with ISIS), my empathy has no boundaries. Over […]

Summer of Kindness #6|Secret Messages of Kindness

In CA we are still have several weeks of summer left and are getting creative on how to keep the kids busy in a positive way. Everyone likes getting secret messages, right? For me, it’s reminiscent of Jr. High when you could send your friends a “candy gram” in class – nothing was more amazing and made your day even brighter by knowing someone was thinking of you. I did our secret messages with a group of preschoolers but even teens could make this one fun with their friends over the summer or once school starts. I know I would […]

Summer of Kindness Challenge #4: Spread a Smile Edition

As more and more people are finding out about ISP I am receiving so many fun emails from the most amazing people. One last week was from a lady from Word Rocks who gave me this amazing idea in exchange for some smile wands. Fair trade I think. Word Rocks is exactly what you think it is, maybe. Basically they are wonderful, fun sayings or words written on rocks and left anywhere and everywhere people roam to brighten their day. As luck should have it we live near the beach so we spent some time last week finding some gorgeous rocks […]

Somewhere in the World it’s 5:00

Unless you live in a county like Spain, then it’s 5:00 all day and all night. Why don’t I live there again? With all this kindness you all are doing take a break this weekend and enjoy this amazing weather, grab yourself a drink and say, “I’m pretty amazing”. We got the kids covered with their bucket list, now let’s get to you….. To me summer means first and foremost one thing: chips, quality Mexican restaurant salsa and most importantly, margaritas. Now, I am quite famous for my homemade margaritas so it was only fitting to praise these new takes […]

It’s summer so here’s a great twist on a workout OC style: Aerial Fitness

Am I the only one that has gone to every Cirque du Soleil show in Vegas and thought, “Dang those girls hanging from the fabric and flying across the room are fit”? Didn’t think so. And after only 1.5 hours of working on silks at Aerial Fitness Orange County I now know why. As I mentioned before one of my pastimes is trying any new or different fitness trends or activity. Aerial fitness is one that has been on my radar since it surfaced for non-performers to try as a workout and it was definitely worth the wait. Good […]

What’s On Your Bucket List?

They’re heeeeerrrreeeee…….all our kids at home that is. So what to do, what to do? Of course if I ask my 3 year old twins what they want to do the answer is always in unison, “Disneyland!”. Every. Single. Day. Nope, no thanks. Not with a two hour wait for a 60 second ride on Dumbo with two impatient girls on a Mickey-induced sugar high. We will wait until September ladies. What we did do at our house though is make a summer bucket list. The girls each get a turn once a week to pick a picture from the […]

It’s that time of year again!

It’s time to show our beloved teachers how much we appreciate them for taking such good care of our little munchkins all year (and let’s be honest also thank them for those few extra hours to ourselves Monday-Friday). Living in SoCal we decided to do something a little different and send them off for summer with some R & R in mind. The twinsies gave their amazing preschool teachers this little bundle of summer love to start off summer properly. Because we all know these teachers deserve some down time for a couple of months until September rolls around […]
